Tani Tiger is one feisty female, a huntress of the wilderness. She inhabits X.Treme Island - living in the depths of the jungle. She was evolved by Nitrus Brio at a young age, the kinder scientist of the madman duo. But she was quite judgmental and fearful, thus leading to her making an escape not long after being created. She was the first mutant to make an escape from the castle. Tani was evolved not long after Kris, Crunch, Hayden and Gavin. She never met them in her early years... but her existence was known to them.
She grew up in relative solitude on X.Treme Island, having quite a strong survival instinct. Although she would sneak over to Cortex Castle Island for resources and to check on what the mad scientists were up to. Tani has a thing against humans, especially seeing animals & anthros being tossed out by Cortex for being 'failures'. Especially knowing that some of them were being brainwashed and forced to work for the scientists to do their evil bidding.
She also discovered that she had a brother, but she was unable to free him due to being so closely guarded. Little did she know, he would eventually be evolved into one of the strongest and most fierce of the anthro experiments.
Tani shared a portion of his strength and aggression, but still retained her intelligence and survival skills. Even so, she is the strongest female mutant to be created thus far. Tani made a potoroo friend named Kitana, helping her escape from the castle some time after Dr Cortex disappeared into space at the defeat of Crash Bandicoot.
Despite Tani's feisty and stubborn nature, she has a very caring heart for the innocent and misunderstood, even if she may not show it much. She's one of the few who can connect with 'difficult' anthros such as Ripper roo, even understanding his strange language. She cares for him and other rejects of Cortex's, left to be forgotten on X.Treme Island. And so, she's protective of the island and it's inhabitants, doing what she can to help them. Even if some of the rejects can be annoying, such as Koala Kong and his rowdy buddies. But he does come in handy when defending the place from trouble and the like.
This leaves her very wary of strangers and even Crash bothers her when he comes onto the island to cause havoc and have fun adventures. She sees him as nothing but a nuisance.
Along with living wild, she's a great cook and loves gardening in her spare time. She also likes to spar with her fellow allies to keep her self defense up to scratch.
It would be years until Tani would come face to face with Crunch, but when they finally do meet, her world would be changed forever. For the good, or for the bad? :O let's just say, they do not buddy up at first, that's for sure!
